SPRWS and Cavitt Productions – Summer, 2026
What a thrill to walk in the footsteps of those who, in the 1880s, carved the sandstone into passages deep under downtown Saint Paul. As part of researching for the 150-year history book for the Saint Paul Regional Water Services, the Cavitt sisters recently explored a small portion of the many miles of tunnels under the City of Saint Paul. Dark, mysterious and oh so intriguing, the walls of the intricate network feature pick-axe marks by primarily Italian immigrant laborers long ago.
